Ladieswear Designer - Manchester - Salary Negotiable

The next-generation online fashion retailer for the forward-thinking consumer has arrived.

Everything is manufactured in house and so apart from fit, quality and design it’s imperative that we source and manufacture in an ethical and environmentally friendly way.

Role:

  • Research, develop and create moodboards, colour palettes and fabric stories for upcoming collections.
  • Design across multi-product categories, covering both core product and trend/newness, identifying key shapes for the season and key product opportunities.
  • Present your work in sign offs/meetings to Managers & CEO.
  • Partake in sourcing and inspiration trips nationally and overseas.
  • Source and develop new fabrications, techniques and trimmings, applying expert understanding across all fabric bases and garment constructions.
  • Create technical packs for your designs including information on construction, measurements, fabrication & trimmings.
  • Manage all sample queries from suppliers during sample development stage.
  • Build key relationships with existing and new suppliers.
  • Work closely with the Garment Tech team and Pattern Cutters during the design development stage to ensure optimum execution of first samples.
  • Attend fit sessions with the Garment Techs to ensure samples are executed according to the techpack and to the client standards.
  • Plan and work closely with in-house Buying and Merch teams, collaborating to create fresh product and collections in line with key trading periods.

You:

  • At least 4 years' experience, preferably within slow-fashion/luxury environment
  • Multi-product ladieswear experience - specialities (e.g. tailoring, swimwear, curve/petite etc) are also encouraged
  • Understanding of the brand's handwriting and ability to adapt design skills to this 
  • Good technical experience for creating techpacks 
  • Sound understanding of design software (e.g. Adobe platforms)
