Land Assistant Bid & Project Manager
Crawley - Hybrid working
Your role will be to provide over-arching bid and project management, specifically the project management of critical Land projects (from contract award to final delivery) as well as well as bid activities from shaping to award and handover to contract.
This is a great opportunity to gain a broad exposure, knowledge and experience across all stages of the life cycle in bid and project management. You will also get excellent support and development from an extensive team of specialists and experts in the Land Communication business, as well as the Bid & Project Management function.
The role will require you to ensure effective liaison happens across a range of activities to ensure that best practice is being applied and that project management capability strengths and weaknesses are identified and managed. It requires professional Bid & Project management capabilities (that are founded on significant experience of managing complex projects) to be applied - giving rigour to change control, commercial awareness and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Deliver key results and performance metrics within projects, including order intake, sales, gross margin and cash
Creation of the initial Project Plan during the bid or “Demand” phase of the lifecycle through requirement capture, work definition, estimating and scheduling that will include all Milestones, activities, resources and any other feature that will require to be delivered.
Project Governance (the Gate and Stage Processes) over the bid and project delivery activities to ensure project, technical, procurement and support processes are applied and are effective in controlling risks.
Ensure all business planning and reporting is published in accordance with Business directives
Manage all project stakeholders; ensuring strong communications are established and maintained
Ensure that members of the project team are actively managing Risk and Opportunities, and have a robust Project Management Plan
Ensure data integrity of all project information including financials and schedule. Use the Oracle and Primavera toolset to hold all financial, schedule and resource information.
Ensure “Lessons Learned Management” is applied to all projects.
About you
You will have experience of bid management or project management/planning.
Be experienced and adept at building and managing strong, long lasting relationships across customers, partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders
Possess excellent communication and influencing skills with experience driving multidisciplinary teams to successful bid completion (experience aligning deliverables with customer requirements and submission deadlines)
Have experience working autonomously and managing your own deliverables without the requirement of regular supervision.
