Salary up to GBP85,000 per annum dependant on experience

We have a fantastic opportunity in Ashford for a Land Drainage Operations Manager to work for a successful client that offers a variety of bespoke services across Kent and Sussex.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and organise operations within the business, ensuring they are in accordance with applicable legislation and in the best interests of the company
• Gain a clear understanding of the Client s requirements to ensure projects are structured and resourced efficiently, to the correct timescales, providing accurate project costs and quotations to clients
• Plan and manage work schedules and procure the necessary materials
• Ensure all paperwork and records of operations are completed with as much relevant detail as possible to support timely invoicing and reporting
• Strong ability to read and interpret site plans, drawings and identify any variances
• Optimise business opportunities from networking events and to follow through all substantial leads
• Set and monitor achievable KPI s for the team, providing support, development and feedback as appropriate
• Comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures, monitoring improvements that could be made to maintain a safe working environment
• Bring in new initiatives and efficiencies to enable cost savings and increase profit margins
• Develop the business in collaboration with the wider management team, establishing contacts and client relationships
• Report regularly to the board on progress-making recommendations on business improvements and growth initiatives
• Responsible for the accurate pricing of large projects and tender bids
• Other duties as deemed reasonable

Skills and Experience

• Good knowledge of CDM regulations
• Proficient use of Gannt charts for selective projects
• Use of CAD (or similar programs)
• Site setting out/surveying skills - GPS or total station
• Proven experience in a leadership role within the civil groundworks and drainage business area
• Previous experience in similar role
• Degree or equivalent work experience
• Highly effective communication, discipline and interpersonal skills
• Team player who can lead by example
