Job description

Your experience of systems design and ability to see how things are put together will help you to work on the technical system design of a brand new boundary pushing laser Weapon System development programme. As a System Engineer, you will be working on a world leading, potentially world changing, new capability development at the forefront of advanced technology.

About the job:
 
Our client currently requires a System Engineer to be part of a dynamic and innovative team dedicated to developing advanced defence systems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design, development, and integration of advanced LDEW systems, ensuring flawless performance and reliability. The role will include;
    • System Design Engineering
    • Initiate/undertake and drive trade studies and system development activities
    • Understood elaboration of user requirements with the design authorities in response to their needs and constraints
    • Support functional design with requirement flow down through system/sub-system/equipment
    • Develop excellent working relationships with key partners
    • Desire to develop, build and grow the Systems Design team and the people within it as the project develop

About you:
As a Laser Directed Energy Weapon (LDEW) System Engineer you will be a systems engineer and your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
    • Experience of developing complex systems (ideally in defence)
    • Ability to communicate architectures and ideas at all levels
    • Ability to disseminate/share technical information to customers in an understandable manner
    • Experience of system architecting tools e.g. DOORS/DOORS NG/Rhapsody (desirable)
    • Knowledge of lasers or maritime system integration would be highly beneficial
