• Collecting and receiving dirty laundry
• Sorting and checking linen. Residents laundry, kitchen towels, bedlinen etc., should all be washed separately
• All laundry should be washed and dried at appropriate temperatures. Sluicing programmes should be used for soiled linen, and particular care taken over woollens and delicate fabrics
• Ironing of all bedlinen, and residents’ clothing, as required
• Folding and storing of all clean laundry; returning clean laundry to appropriate storage area, ie bedlinen, towels etc., to the linen stores
• Residents’ clothing will be hung and/or stored on the appropriately named shelf space having checked the identity on the garment. Any garment not clearly marked with the resident’s name must be immediately brought to the Care Managers attention. Great care should be taken with residents’ clothing so that it looks presentable when worn
