This role offers a competitive salary, hybrid working (approx up to 4 times a month in the office), 28 days holiday a year plus Bank Holidays and 11% pension after one year of service.

Salary £48,000 - £55,000 per annum

A key component of the Which? offering is a telephone-based legal advice service where, for a low monthly fixed price, we help our members with a wide range of personal legal issues.  These range from consumer disputes to property and neighbour issues, landlord and tenancy issues.

We are looking for a Lawyer with experience in advising in Landlord and Tenant issues (specifically Assured Shorthold Tenancies), and preferably Consumer issues as well.  (Please only apply if you have this, or your application will not be taken forward).

Key responsibilities include: 

  • The ability to work autonomously in providing legal advice to customers in landlord and tenant and consumer law and potentially other areas of law covered by Which? Legal, depending on experience. 
  • Maintaining effective communication with customers, and also within the department and with other departments.
  • Able to organise effectively, balancing customer calls with any additional responsibilities

About you:

As a qualified lawyer, you will have a good working knowledge of landlord and tenant law and  one or more of the legal areas in which we assist our members:  General litigation, consumer disputes, property issues and disputes (preferably including leasehold/freehold disputes). 

You will have experience of advising individuals in relation to these legal issues, the desire to help people resolve their legal problems by explaining the legal and practical issues clearly and accurately, suggesting positive solutions, while displaying understanding and great customer service skills.

You'll be passionate about the services we provide to our members by suggesting and implementing proactive steps to improve the member journey and the colleague experience.

  • An interview on Google Meet (approximately 60 minutes) consisting of values and experience-based competency questions.
