Job Title: LDD Learning Support Worker
Location: Ware, Hertfordshire
Pay: £14.26 per hour – Including Holiday Pay
Hours: Various hours available across Monday – Friday 9:15am – 4.15pm
Hertford Regional College are currently looking for a LDD Learner Support Worker to work at our Ware campus. The successful candidate will support learners with behavioural, physical, sensory, and cognitive learning difficulties or disabilities.
This role would suit a proactive, caring and reliable individual looking for a fulfilling role where they can really make a difference to a young person’s life.
Your duties will include:
- To assist learners in a variety of educational tasks within a classroom environment
- To empower learners to enable full participation in the requirements of the course
- Routinely keep written records such as, incident sheets, safeguarding concerns and behaviour tracking logs
- To enable learners to make full use of the ancillary facilities of the college, e.g. Refectory Students Centres, Library, Student Union, Sports and Recreational facilities
- To support students to access planned off-site activities e.g. community access, work experience and in working towards independent travel
- To enable learners with physical or sensory impairments to make maximum use of their course and college environment
- To assist and encourage learners in becoming more independent and self-reliant within the framework of their chosen programme of study
- To have due regard to the health, welfare and emotional well-being of students at all times and in all contexts
Key requirements of the role:
- Previous experience or working in Learning Support
- Excellent communication skills to establish a strong rapport with students
- The ability to inspire students to achieve
- Self-motivation and a proactive approach to the role
- Good knowledge and understanding of the needs of learners with learning difficulties, would be advantageous
