Specifically this role sits within the payments & engagement lab, modernising our monolith systems and upgrading our graphic user interface. You would work as Lead Android Engineer in the Lab, to develop our in house capability, supporting business as usual products and new changes.
What exactly will I focus on?
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven candidate to join us as a Lead Android Engineer working across a number of cross-disciplinary feature teams providing engineering leadership and expertise. You will be passionate about designing and delivering scalable mobile applications.
Hands on coding & development
Task management of 3rd parties & suppliers
Upskilling & supporting more junior colleagues as required
Collaborate with solution architects, UI/UX designers, API development team and proposition managers to refine and implement features
Act as an authority with knowledge of Android SDK, Google's Android design principles, interface guidelines and best practices
Demonstrate leadership for mobile architecture (engage & lead key stakeholders)
Provide mentoring and supporting for Android development team members
Help create prototypes to explore innovative solutions and features
What we're looking for;
We'd welcome applicants from diverse cultural, and technological backgrounds and believe this is critical to success. This is a senior role in a niche area, so as a minimum to be considered for shortlisting we need to see evidence of the following in your CV;
Prior experience working as a senior / lead Android Developer
Expertise in Kotlin, Java, Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, co-routines
Firm grasp of testing methodologies (Unit testing, UI testing, Snapshot, Espresso, Roboletric, automated testing etc) and dependency Injection tools (dagger 2, Hilt)
Knowledge of design patterns, App architectures such as MVVM, MVI and experience in modularization of the App.
Tried experience of modern application and software development approaches including automated testing, test driven development, continuous integration, pair programming, code review and version control
Knack of identifying new technologies, tools and approaches to help continually improve standards and quality
