Leeds City College are recruiting for a Lead Assessor Mechanical/Electrical Engineering to join our Engineering team based at our Printworks campus.
We are looking for a candidate with industry experience and a relevant level 4 qualification in the subject area along with a teaching qualification.
Additionally, an assessor qualification would be an advantage, however we will support any candidate in achieving this award.
What You Will Do
- The job role will be geared around supporting Level 3 Engineering Apprentices to achieve relevant engineering qualifications, which would be based around the following teaching elements..
- Health & Safety, Communications, Mechanical Principles, Electrical Principles, CAD, CAM, Lean Manufacturing, Mechanical Maintenance, Pneumatics & Hydraulics, Fluid Power and Mechanical Fault Diagnosis.
- Plus workshop based teaching in Fitting, Turning, Milling, CNC and basic electrical & Mechanical repair.
- It is expected that the candidate will have some experience of the above elements but obviously not all.
- Assessing students in the workplace would form 1 or two days weekly, having a small cohort to manage.
- Hold Assessor and Verification Awards TAQA
- Experience of teaching, training peers or transferring skills to others.
- Substantial work experience in a relevant occupational area
- Understanding and experience of current working practices within the occupational area.
