Lead Assurance Auditor

Are you a Lead Assurance Auditor with operational risk experience interested in joining a company helping achieve a greener, sustainable, and more affordable energy system for everyone?We are looking for a Lead Assurance Auditor to join our SHEQ Policy and Assurance function, working strategically and effectively with key stakeholders across all business functions to identify and coordinate the delivery of improvement opportunities to enhance process efficiency and effectiveness.There is a requirement to attend site approximately twice per week, with offices in Glasgow, Cardiff, Bolton, Doncaster and Newmark. To fulfil this role, travel to other sites is essential, therefore, a full and current driving license and access to a vehicle is required.Within the post, you will plan and conduct compliance audits across multiple management systems, including ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, to assess the overall effectiveness of the business’s processes and procedures. You will ensure that the business is adhering to internal procedures, relevant regulatory standards, and legislative requirements; ensuring gaps identified are reported to management and improvement actions are implemented in a timely manner.This is an opportunity for an experienced auditor with the drive to influence change. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and be integral to ongoing projects and process standardisation following recent acquisitions. Responsibilities include:* Leading the development of the IMS audit schedule, using a risk-based approach* Leading and managing IMS audits (end to end), often in complex risk areas* Reporting on the effectiveness of policies, systems, processes, and procedures, making recommendations for improvements and developing action plans* Monitoring and reporting on action plans to ensure that they are implemented effectively and within agreed timescales (for both internal and external audits)* Driving continuous improvement, through recommended changes to business operations, processes, and system enhancements* Preparing for and leading external audits* Leading on extending the scope of the IMS following acquisitionsAbout you:* You will hold a higher-level qualification (degree) in a relevant discipline or demonstrate equivalent experience* You will be a Qualified QMS Auditor/Lead Auditor or demonstrate an equivalent level of experience* You will be a Qualified Internal Auditor (IIA or equivalent)* You will have experience and proficiency in the use of MS Office packages, e.g., Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
