Lead Biomedical Scientist - Blood Transfusion

Duties to include but not be limited to: Maintain effective communication strategies with colleagues across the Trust and external agencies to ensure service delivery. Discuss and give expert technical advice and opinions on Blood Transfusion issues. To deal with professional and public enquires in an efficient, tactful and diplomatic manner. Ensure the appropriate analysis of internal quality control and external quality assurance data and present this to senior staff meetings and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken. To liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure continuity of service provision within the department section. To communicate changes in equipment, technical, testing and other Blood Transfusion Laboratory protocols to other members of staff. Deliver Team Brief to staff within Blood Transfusion Laboratory and CDH service. To attend and participate in departmental management and Pathology Management Group meetings as required. Organise senior technical meetings and provide regular communication updates to all Blood Transfusion Laboratory staff, disseminate actions identified from the meetings.
