Salary: £40,000 to £48,000 + bonus & benefits
A Lead Buyer is required to join a growing procurement function as a result of exceptional sales growth. This offers the successful applicant the chance to join a market leading business who offer long term career development and progression.
Key responsibilities:
- As a Lead Buyer, reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will steer procurement activities within a designated category.
- Working with the Category Manager, Supply Chain Manager, and other key partners you will drive procurement excellence and improvements.
- Support the creation and implementation of procurement category strategy, both nationally and internationally, with the purpose of improving operational efficiency.
- Create tenders, negotiate terms and conditions, implement contracts, identify risk and implementing opportunities for cost reductions.
- Analyse demand plans & forecasts and raise purchase order.
- Manage KPIs identifying and developing areas for improvement.
About you:
To apply for this role, you must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
- Eligible to gain, or already possess, UK security clearance (SC level)
- A technical manufacturing background, Aerospace, Automotive or Defence is preferred.
- Demonstrable procurement and purchasing career success.
- Knowledge of strategic and operational procurement processes.
- Excellent communicator and negotiator with a strong ability to influence.
- Passionate about developing purchasing strategies continuous improvement.
- Ideally be educated to degree level and/or be a CIPS holder.
