Lead Cad Engineer

What you will do

Support a team of contract design engineers by producing schematics and line diagrams using AutoCAD & Inventor (2D)

How you will do it

• Meeting drawing requirements accurately and within the required time frames
• Effective liaison with contract design engineers
• Effective liaison with Development and Production department
• Plan department workload and assign resources.
• Lead small team to achieve key results.
• Drive operational improvements.

What we look for

Essential

• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient in the use of Autodesk products (Inventor, AutoCAD).
• Excellent drafting skills.
• Experienced in the use of Microsoft office products.
• Great problem-solving skills
• Planning and prioritising skills
• Good knowledge and experience of AutoCAD & Inventor
• Ability to translate sketches and amended drawings into accurate finished drawings.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
• Ability to create drawings, blocks, symbols & templates.
• Proactive approach to ensure all design work is completed to deadlines.
• Willing to undertake other business activities as required.
• Enthusiastic about continuous improvement.
• Ability to recognise need for improvements to drawing templates, blocks and procedures and lead the change.

Preferred

• Experience within electronics & mechanical manufacturing engineering environment
• Experience in producing hydraulic & electrical schematics.
• 3D Modelling.
• Knowledge of hazardous area equipment
• Knowledge of PCB layout

• Mechanical design
• Experience in offshore industry advantageous.
