One of the UK’s largest law firms is currently recruiting for a Lead Data Scientist, tasked with leading the development and unleashing the potential of Data Science across the business.

The company are redefining and modernising the key analytics reports that drive the business. You would play a key role leading the charge in developing more advanced analytical solutions and building the Data Science capability of the analytics team.

Full-time permanent role offering flexible working options, the role can be remote however occasional meetings with the analytics team at the company’s North West and Yorkshire offices will be required.

The Role

- Co-develop and implement the Data Science workplan and future roadmap for value generation and adoption

- Manage the workloads of the Data Science team to deliver agreed requirements to time

- Work with Data Engineering to build out a Data Science / Machine Learning engagement ensuring that implementation at scale is achievable

- Apply advanced statistical, machine learning techniques and AI approaches to identify patterns, correlations, and trends in the data

- Develop predictive models, algorithms, and statistical analyses to solve business problems

- Utilise data visualisation tools to present findings in a clear and concise manner

- Sharing knowledge, techniques, and conducting research to improve and progress the Data & Analytics services

- Coordinate with all data colleagues to ensure consistent approach to the delivery of insights and analytics

The Candidate

The role will suit an evangelist for data insights who can operate in a highly changeable environment with multiple priority pressures, ideally with strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, able to identify and address business challenges.


Essential amongst your skillset and experience will be…

- Expert proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL

- Experience with data manipulation, data wrangling, and data visualization tools (e.g., pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib)

- Experience implement Data Science products in a cloud environment, preferably Azure

- Use of tools such as Databricks, Auto ML, Azure ML, etc

- Knowledge of Power BI or other data visualisation tools
