Lead Design Engineer

Location: Broughton
Contract: Until end of 2024 (inside IR35)
Hourly Rate: £50 via an Umbrella company

Belcan Workforce Solutions are seeking a Lead Design Engineer to join our client's Wing Plant Engineering Team (PET). You will support the Wing Component Delivery Teams (CDTs), providing engineering support to the Broughton Plant and its Supply Chain. Our goal is to deliver Wings to the Final Assembly Lines, identifying improvements, undertaking investigations, and providing technical solutions for Design for Cost, Rate, and Quality improvements.

You will join a fast-paced team, delivering high-quality design solutions in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering to meet the needs of our Industrial System while maintaining the highest levels of product integrity.

About the Role

This role offers an opportunity for personal growth in a supportive team environment. You'll develop a network of contacts across the Wing Engineering community, the Plant Production team, and its support functions. This role provides support to the Plant Engineering team and the Broughton Plant.

Responsibilities

You'll Lead Design investigations and formulate technical solutions for Manufacturing Non-Conformances and Design Investigations. You'll operate as a Lead Design Engineer with design approval signatory for manufacturing non-conformances (T200). You'll drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency. You'll report on critical technical issues and develop stakeholder relationships in the wider network to engineering.

Skills & Experience

You're motivated and self-driven and can identify risks/opportunities managing them appropriately. You can understand and synthesize complex activities, simplify and communicate them clearly. You can work in an open and trusting environment, understand, nurture, and demonstrate resilience. You must currently hold Concession Design Approval (T200).
