Lead Designer

Location: Oxford
Salary: Up to £55,000
Summary:
At Bis Henderson, we are looking for a Lead Designer to join a growing Manufacturer. The role focuses on designing, developing and providing technical support in the creation of their products, managing a small team through new development projects. The ideal candidate will have prior management experience, able to take a hands-on approach. You will also need to have formal qualifications in Design or Engineering with an advanced proficiency in 3D CAD and an understanding of the manufacturing processes involved in moving parts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a small multi-discipline team through new development projects
* Create, maintain, and manage technical assembly and manufacturing drawings.
* Provide technical support to production and sales departments.
* Assist management in design and development decisions.
* Contribute to building and testing prototypes from concept to pre-production stages.
* Produce and oversee Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Experience:
* Prior experience in a similar role, leading a team of over 5 people.
* Formal qualifications in Design or Engineering
* Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD
* Understanding of diverse manufacturing processes in an industry containing moving parts.
* Experience designing tools and parts for Composite manufacture.
* Experience of managing design projects in multi-disciplinary teams.
