About the Role
Base Location: Reading or Havant
Salary: £62,324 - £71,370 and a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

About the Role:
- The role will contribute to the design and delivery of cloud services delivered within SSE, the primary objective is to drive Cloud Infrastructure enhancements, develop the toolchain and automation patterns required to empower transformation.
- The role will provide the opportunity to be part of SSE's digital transformation and migration of applications to Cloud, ensuring the platform achieves the target standards of efficiency, resilience and availability required by the organisation.
- The role will support stakeholders to adopt and leverage the latest Cloud Native Application Architecture patterns, delivering scalable, resilient, and performant solutions.
- Requirement to identify and progress opportunities to drive continuous improvement across engineering, delivery, and operational practices.
- Requirement to assist the development teams, debugging and troubleshooting application issues, quality checking code.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Strong Azure DevOps management skills with common CI/CD techniques and tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub and Gitlab.
- Strong experience with the setting up and maintenance of the DevOps repositories, branching strategies, with version control. Setting up and maintenance of Pipelines, supporting CI/CD with assurance and governance of application releases.
- Strong experience, ideally with a previous development background with managing multiple release streams across multiple applications utilising: YAML, SSDT - SQL Server Deployment Tool and DevOps security tools. Strong skills with scripting languages: PowerShell /AZ CLI, Terraform, ARM templates with good secure coding practices.
- Good Terraform / IAC and PowerShell scripting skills with the ability to understand and improve existing code.
- Good technical / Core Azure skills: App Services and Containerisation, APIM, Azure AD and OAUTH, Management Identity (User and System), App Insights & Azure Monitor, App Gateway, Certificate management / B2B & B2C Identity Management, data warehousing / ETL using ADF.
