Lead Functional Safety Engineer

​Our start-up client based in Warwickshire are creating a ground-breaking ecosystem consisting of an autonomous electric vehicle, specialized infrastructure, and service platform.

We are looking for a Senior or Principal Functional Safety Engineer who will be owner of the responsible Items in the vehicle project and ensure the work is done according to ISO26262. The role will support the Functional Safety Manager, all internal business departments’ query and need on Functional Safety to ensure the whole vehicle project is compliant to ISO26262.

You will be working with internal departments (chassis, powertrain, EE, cyber security, manufacturing etc.) to develop and deliver all Functional Safety work products.

Key responsibilities;

•5 or more years hands on Functional Safety experience in an OEM (ISO Part 2, 3, 4, 7, 8) or Tier 1 supplier (ISO Part 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) of safety critical system,

•Hands on experience on HARA creation

•Hands on experience on FSC creation

•Hands on experience on test case creation and testing on FSR and Software Safety Requirement (SSR) etc.

•5 or more years of automotive engineering experience (system architecture, requirements, testing, issue resolution etc. for mass production vehicles or systems),

•Project Functional Safety management experience is preferred,

•Product launching experience (vehicle or T1 system) is preferred,

•Ideally some experience in developing Functional Safety for Level 4+ autonomous vehicles or Level 2 or 3 ADAS features.

•Have strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

•Have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

•Have experience of working in a start-up is preferable.
