What role you will play in our team


The successful candidate would work with a small team, which is part of the Fife Ethylene Plant’s Engineering Department.The Engineering Department comprises of multidisciplinary engineers and technicians, and provides technical support across the Fife Ethylene Plant facility at Mossmorran and Braefoot Bay.


We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Lead Inspector to join our team at Fife Ethylene Plant (FEP) which is located at Fife, Scotland. The Lead Inspector is responsible for carrying out equipment inspections, report writing and work scope generation, according to the Equipment Strategy (ES) and in accordance with the Global Inspection Practices (GIPs).


The Lead Inspector assists with mentoring/training within the group and drives technical quality through inspector audits and CER. The Lead Inspector works with the Mechanical Integrity FLS to schedule and carry out LPS “touches” on the Equipment Inspectors across the site and to run LPO feedback sessions.


About you


  • Have suitable qualifications for RG2 Category 3, such as HNC or ONC and at least five years of relevant experience on pressure systems.
  • Be familiar with the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSRs) and capable of inspecting Major Equipment as defined by Pressure Systems Legislation.
  • Be able to demonstrate strong knowledge of inspection, NDT techniques, engineering materials, QA/QC, fabrication and welding.
  • Have strong IT skills, specifically being a competent user of Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel and Word).
  • Successful candidate should possess a broad range of personal effectiveness and leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate and influence business decisions in a team environment.
