A brilliant opportunity has been raised at their modern offices in the West Midlands for a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to work with industry experts on new product development and innovation, you will have the opportunity to provide your expertise and experience on exciting projects from inception to completion.

The Role:
As a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be reporting directly to the Mechanical Engineering and Product Development Manager, working with an established engineering team working on bespoke Robotic projects as well as product development. The completed machinery is worth on average £5 million each and typically take 9 months from design to completion.
The Lead Mechanical Design Engineer’s key responsibility will be to:
Design special purpose machinery using Autodesk Inventor CAD software.
Design bespoke machine components and parts.
Lead designated design projects, ensuring compliance with the project plans and completion times.
Be a senior member of the Engineer team and offer support and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
Support the business with product development and researching new market technology that could benefit existing and future product range.
Carry out calculation which include power, structural, stress, and inertia.
The Candidate:
To be successful in your application for the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer role you will need:
2D and 3D CAD software experience.
Experience in designing special purpose machinery.
A Mechanical engineering qualification.
The ability to perform engineering calculations.
The ability and confidence to work in a lead role with mentoring responsibilities.
