Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

Job title: Lead Mechanical design engineer.
Job Type: contract
IR35 Status: inside
Start date: ASAP - subject to clearance.
Duration: 12 month.
Pay rate: competitive.
Location: Preston
Hours of work: 37hrs Mon-Fri

Need to be based on site fully for the 1st 6 month

Applicants must have experience of the following:
* Degree Qualification or equivalent experience in lieu of this
* Ability to lead design tasks and take accountability and responsibility for delivery of design packages for a range of projects
* Ability to work with minimum supervision and guidance to deliver design packages
* Ability to manage the 'Design' expectations of the project stakeholders throughout the life of the project

Candidates would ideally have:
* Experience of Human Factors in Design
* Experience in Commissioning of Mechanical systems
* APMP Qualification
* Piping and vessel design experience would also be an advantage.

Role information:

Provision of mechanical engineering design packages to appropriate internal and national / international standards of quality and safety whilst meeting programme targets. Packages of work will include the development of designs from concept through development to final installation and production hand-over.
