About the role:
Astute's Power team is partnering withan up and coming company within the Power Generation industry to recruit an Lead Mechanical Engineer on a 12 month contract for a new build power station FEED study stage.
Key responsibilities and activities:

• Ensuring the FEED contractors Mechanical Engineering and design meets requirements;
• Reviewing and commenting on contractor and licensor documents and resolving those comments;
• Engaging with discipline counter party with key stakeholders as required to proactively progress the design;
• Co-ordinating with the FEED team to ensure a cohesive design solution;
• Ensuring the FEED team is aware of Mechanical Engineering issues arising with Kent and progressing their timely resolution;
• Ensuring the client are aware of issues arising and co-ordinating the resolution;
• Striving to achieve best value through the facilities design; and
• Providing support to the team in securing all necessary consents, connections and permissions to build and operate the plant.

On a day to day basis the Mechanical Engineering they will do is as follows;

• Reviewing the client documentation
• Co-ordinating with the client lead engineer to expedite progress and to understand their work plan
• Co-ordinating with the lead engineers to ensure a cohesive solution
• Support the management team in the development of the applications for regulatory consents.
• Proactively engage with the clients lead engineer to address specific owner's requirements and to gauge impact of any owner change prior to instruction

How many hours a week? 40 hours per week
Working schedule? Typically 9-5 minimum 3 days a week in Woking contractors office
Who would they be reporting to? Project Director
Will they be in a team with anyone? Or working solely? FEED Project Manager
