Lead Operations Manager (West) - Vertas Group Limited

Cleaning / Facilities Management across the Midlands region

37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Monday to Friday; Hours will be dependent on business needs

GBP40,000.00 per annum

The Role:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Lead Operations Manager to join our team in the Midlandsarea. We require an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the delivery of both hard and soft services across multiple sites. You will have experience of motivating and leading teams, setting objectives and deadlines for others whilst monitoring performance data to ensure the success of the service. You will serve as the first point of escalation for all facilities management matters, you will be a critical decision maker in providing a responsive service to diverse stakeholders.

You will lead the team to facilitate the growth and retention of business whilst building and improving relationships with customers.

Main responsibilities for the role:

Work with Head of Integrated Facilities Management to develop the customer facing team and ensure standards are being delivered.

Achieve consistency and quality of information in respect to maintenance programmes and contractor management.

Actively maintain QMS to ISO9001 standards

Manage a team as a Line Manager and support the development and performance of individuals undertaking mobile work styles over a large geographical area.

Manage clients at a higher level, building and improving relationships.

Ensure best possible cleaning standards are delivered across the region.

Delivering a profitable and cost-effective service to our client.

Full Cleaning P&L and budget responsibility for your designated locations.

Identify and implement innovative solutions.

Present with senior management at strategic quarterly review meetings.

Ensure consistent and effective communication is in place between Vertas and our client.

Effective and proactive recruitment of new staff.

Management of effective 'staff cover planning .

To manage the audit of payroll, maintaining accuracy and profitability levels as agreed

To uphold health and safety compliance on all designated sites

The Operations Cleaning Manager will have:

  • A Passion for delivering the highest cleaning standards via an engaging, supportive and motivational management approach to their team.
  • Experience in growing and strengthening client relationships across their business area.
  • Understanding of building regulations and compliance
  • Experience in successfully delivering service operations across multiple sites.
  • Experience in a multi service/TFM role, including both hard and soft services.
  • The ability to be well organised and manage multiple work streams while leading a similar skilled team in a multi-disciplined environment.
  • Extensive experience in Cleaning Contract Management, (at least 2 years).
  • the confidence to challenge colleagues but also the pragmatism to drive towards a positive outcome for all. A solution driven, team player and resourceful problem-solver, with the ability to respond quickly and effectively in pressurised situations. Confident, personable and diplomatic with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in full P&L and budget management for multiple cleaning accounts (of at least GBP750k in combined turnover).
  • A full UK driving license.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Office and general IT packages.
