Lead Practitioner (Dance)

This is a newly created role, and a unique opportunity. We are looking for a creative and collaborative team player to inspire, teach and support the next generation of actors, performers and creatives.The postholder will be the departmental lead for Dance discipline classes across all courses and in ensuring that practice keeps pace with current industry practice and providing advice to Course Leaders and Director of Actor Training of Actor Training on course matters and teaching.

You will be responsible for providing the teaching and training to Acting and Musical Theatre students, with a specialism in at least two of the following: Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Commercial, Double-work or Musical Theatre repertoire. Additionally, you will be responsible for the delivery of tutorials to the Acting & Musical Theatre students and draw up written assessments of the students at the end of each unit of work, as well as oversee the drawing up of written assessments by other teachers in the discipline.

The successful post-holder will possess extensive and demonstrable experience in a relevant pedagogical and/or industry context with professional experience working in Musical Theatre. Furthermore, you will need to have the ability to work effectively and creatively with students and colleagues.
