We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, dedicated, motivated and innovative Lead Practitioner for Technology. Crestwood Community School is one school, with two campuses serving central Eastleigh, we have grown in popularity and are now oversubscribed in every year group. This post will work in conjunction with the Achievement Leader for Technology focussing on teaching and learning development across the faculty.  You will be based across both campuses and will play a key role in observing and improving the practice of staff, ensuring protocols and procedures are followed, tackling in a professional manner, and by policy, any deficiencies. You will also work pastorally across the school supporting students to achieve high standards of behaviour.

 The post will encompass:

  • Leading the Teaching & Learning within your faculty.
  • Contributing on deep dives into various aspects of teaching and learning themes
  • Working with Achievement Leaders to identify any support and CPD needed within your faculty
  • Providing coaching support
  • Responding to training needs of staff identified through performance management
  • Contribute to delivering the ECT and SCITT programme

The Technology Faculty is a leading faculty across both campuses. The faculty comprises ICT & Computing, Business Studies and Design & Technology. In ICT & Computing at Key Stage 3, students will have 75 minutes of ICT time every fortnight.

They undertake a wide range of topics within the National Curriculum Computing Strategy, including Computational Thinking, Using Data, Creative Graphic Design Web Design, E-Safety, Cyber Security and the Use of ICT in Society and the Wider World. Topics are often project based to provide a real-world feel. At Key Stage 4, students get the opportunity to take GCSE Computer Science or BTEC Creative Media Production as an option subject. However, within our ethos to constantly find the most innovative and dynamic curriculum mix, we are always looking at the merits of new courses. Business Studies is a massively popular option subject at Key Stage 4, with students able to opt for the BTEC Tech Award in Enterprise. In Design & Technology, students have 75 minutes of subject time a week at Key Stage 3 and complete subject rotations in the specialisms: Resistant Materials, Textiles, Food and Graphics. At Key Stage 4, they can opt for GCSE Design & Technology or GCSE Food and Nutrition.
