Salary: £35k to £38k - potential for further reward based on performance and outcomes


Initial 32 month contract with Nottingham Trent University with pathway to ongoing permanent employment with the The Turmeric Co.

Hybrid role with a physical presence required at key project stages in Chatteris, Cambridge and also at NTU’s Clifton Campus

About the Role

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Lead Research Scientist in Nutrition to work in Partnership with the The Turmeric Co. and Nottingham Trent University’s Sports Science Department as part of a collaborative project.

The primary objective of this project is to help The Turmeric Co. refine and optimise their product range by boosting the bioavailability of the key active compound, curcumin. To achieve this, the associate will initially conduct a comprehensive pharmacokinetic assessment before moving onto human research trials which will inform both the refinement of existing products and new product development.

You will have a scientific post-graduate qualification (PhD minimum) or be expected to obtain this within the next 6-months. With experience in conducting human research studies with a focus on physiology/nutrition, strong regulatory awareness, and the ability to convey complex scientific evidence to diverse audiences. This project provides a unique opportunity to simultaneously develop both your academic and industry experience, whilst also delivering real business impact.

The role is part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) funded jointly by Innovate UK and The Turmeric Co. As a KTP Associate, you’ll work with the academic team and colleagues across The Turmeric Co. to embed knowledge and initiatives.
