Our Security Architects ensure Security Architecture considerations are built into DWP Digital solution designs from the outset, to protect millions of users.

Pay between £69,689 - £89,995, up to 30.3%% employer pension contributions worth over £20,000, hybrid working, and great work life balance. Includes flexi-time with up to 3 extra days off a month.

Location

This role can be based in our Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield hub. We work a hybrid model with time in an office, and some time at home.

We need you to provide expert advice to Solution Architects to drive technology choices and decisions. You'll ensure Security Architecture considerations are built into DWP Digital solution designs from the outset, to protect millions of users.

Designing World-Class Protections.

DWP maintain and modernise services that will be used by nearly every person in the UK, at key moments in their lives. You'll work with engineering teams, and other Digital colleagues, to create secure, value for money solution designs.

Our Lead Security Architects need skills in Security Architecture leadership and proven ability to influence senior stakeholders across large organisations and diverse technology portfolios.

You also need to be a good communicator. You'll lead and influence, as an advocate for good Security Architecture design. You'll communicate complex things simply to inform better decision by senior leaders at forums and governance boards.

You're an expert and leader for us. So we'll also ask you contribute to and build our DWP Architecture community, particularly growing our specialist knowledge and capability in Security Architecture.

Your Essential Skills

• Application Architecture design and modelling techniques, tools and standards.
• Application Security and CI/CD Pipelines e.g. OWASP and Secure Code Assessment tools, and security of container/cluster based solutions e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Git.
• Identity Management and federation including SSO.
• Network Technologies e.g. Cloud Acceleration, Voice, SD-WAN, DDoS and network-based controls.
• Cloud based assurance and risk models and their application, including NIST and other associated frameworks.
• Information Security innovation as part of the future of Application Reference Architecture.

Desirable Qualifications

It's great if you've got these. If you haven't and you want them we'll help you work towards them:

• Azure/AWS Architecture certified.
• CCSK Certified /CCSP Certified.
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).

In return for your skills, we pay £69,689 - £89,995 per annum.
