Are you a Lead Solution Architect, who want to play a major role in the design and implementation of exciting modern digital services for the UK Government?

£66,860 - £89,392 plus 27.9% employer pension contributions, hybrid hub / home working, flexible hours, and great work life balance.

Location

This role may be located in one of the following locations; Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield. We work a hybrid model - some time at home, some time in the office.

You will join our community of Solution Architects in DWP Digital.

You'll be an Architecture expert and leader for key services like Universal Credit and Working Age. You'll design, maintain and modernise solutions and services that will be used by nearly every person in the UK, at key moments in their lives.

You and Your Role

You will lead and manage other Solution Architects while increasing capability, standards, and practices across the organisation.

You'll be working collaboratively multiple stakeholders, unlocking the potential of relationships with engineers, policy and legal experts, and a range or multi-disciplinary practitioners from across DWP and government.

You'll develop product roadmaps and represent product designs at DWP governance forums, providing clear communication of architecture design and decision making.

You'll be part of a team dedicated to the creation of Universal Credit and related Working Age products which are actively delivering for 5.5 million citizens every day as they seek work, and access the payments and support need.

Your Essential Skills:

• Architecture design and modelling techniques, patterns, tools, and standards.
• Micro-service and API-led architecture design.
• Event-based architecture design, patterns (including pub-sub and data streaming).
• Public cloud technologies, design patterns, and best practice (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
• Presenting to technical governance forums.
• Delivering Enterprise scale, multi-million-pound Payments and Accounting, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), or Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions, building on top of industry standard COTS packages.
• Relational database design/modelling, technologies, design patterns, tools, and best practice e.g., Oracle, IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL.

In return for your skills, we pay between £66,860 - £89,392per annum.

You will also receive a brilliant civil service pension, with employer contributions of 27.9%-30.3% worth £19,494 - £23,555 each year.

Plus, a generous leave package starting at 26 days, rising over time to 31 days.
