Severn Park Fire an Rescue Training Centre is run in conjunction with our three training partners Devon, Somerset and Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Services. This purpose built Training Centre offers an enhanced training experience for both Fire Service personnel and the commercial sector.
The role
As a Lead Supervisor you will support the training Centre Manager and Team Leaders with the co-ordinated resource, including four team members, to provide for the Annual Training Plan. This will include scenario preparation & break down, and relevant IT in a safe environment. You'll also perform duties associated with implementing, enforcing and policing safe working systems, for the control of site activities.
Day to day, you'll:

• Coordinate and supervise the facilities' function and resource (Equipment, Personnel, Processes and Procedures)
• Ensure training resource and product are available at all times, and in a suitable condition in line with safe working systems
• Ensure compliance with Health Safety and Environmental (HS&E) processes and procedures, ensuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for the site are met
• Monitoring of regular equipment checks and correction of defects using the planned maintenance system
• Responsibility for ensuring the facility and its auxiliary buildings are in a clean and tidy condition at all times
• Responsible for ensuring IT issues are managed/reviewed and recorded in collaboration with the Babcock IT team
• Provide assistance to the site with the driving of vehicles, as required

The Lead Supervisor is full time, 37-hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm, and based at Severn Park Fire and Rescue Training Centre in Avonmouth, Bristol. The centre operates 24/7 and as such there will be the occasional requirement to undertake cover at weekends/evenings.
Essential experience of the Lead Supervisor:

• Good working knowledge of Health and Safety Procedures
• Previous Team Leading / Supervisory experience
• Knowledge of building/site maintenance; PPM, management contractors, facilities' maintenance etc.
• UK Driving Licence
• IT Literate, Microsoft Office Applications

Qualifications for the Lead Supervisor:

• A qualification in an electrical discipline is desirable.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve BBPSS and DBS security checks for this role.
