About this role:

We're seeking an experienced Lead Systems Operations Engineer to drive technological solutions for our Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) organization. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth operation of our applications and infrastructure, contributing to the growth and success of our business.
As a member of our team, you'll be involved in the management of all our business-facing IT systems, overseeing application upgrades, spearheading vulnerability remediation efforts, and developing leading edge automation and observability tools. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the stability, security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of our technology solutions. Acting as a liaison for the line of business, you'll provide valuable support for daily inquiries, problem and incident management, and project delivery. Additionally, you'll collaborate with peers to recommend solutions for technical issues and drive automation initiatives to enhance platform efficiency.
Led by Sarah Berwick, the Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) group supports the Commercial Banking and Corporate & Investment Banking businesses as well as Payment Solutions, Capital Markets Services, Wholesale Digitization, and International Technology across the firm. This diverse portfolio of capabilities spans multiple technology disciplines and strategic innovations. CCIBT provides strategic, enterprise-wide technology capabilities and enabling services to our lines of business and management of the applications in terms of skills, stability, security, scalability, speed, and cost.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead complex, broad impact initiatives including provision of high level systems consultation for the technology teams
  • Work as key participant in large scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure for Systems Operations functional area
  • Review and analyze complex technical challenges, as well as escalated support issues related to core business solutions that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors, such as alternatives, enhancements, periodic systems reviews, or improvements to existing systems
  • Make decisions on technical changes and enhancements
  • Consult with engineering team on change design requiring solid understanding of technical process controls or standards that influence and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with technical peers, colleagues, and mid to more experienced level managers to resolve systems support issues and achieve goals
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in Systems Operations, engineering or technology architecture, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • Experience administering systems at scale running on Linux, Windows or Cloud platforms and proficiency navigating those environments
  • Experience with observability, automation and orchestration toolsets commonly used in the financial services technology industry
  • Expertise in the ITIL® framework, the associated processes and experience in maturing the use of those processes within financial services
  • An understanding of the regulatory, and professional standards for financial services technology and experience managing people and technology to exceed those requirements.
  • Experience in building and leading diverse and geographically distributed teams, managing performance, skills development and in maturing capabilities to meet business requirements.
  • A proven ability to proactively manage non-financial risk, including the proactive identification, reporting, mitigation, and remediation of risk inside common financial services frameworks.
