Harrington Starr have partnered with a growing OTC derivatives firm in London in the hiring of a skilled Lead Test Automation Engineer. The firm, who provide invaluable services to global banking and commodities trading clients, are keen to speak with skilled Senior Test Automation Engineers who have proven experience in redefining test processes and taking ownership of E2E testing.
This new full-time, permanent position is a unique opportunity for a QA/Testing professional with an interest or willingness to learn more in business analysis and delivery management to establish testing practices to their design.
Specific technology knowledge that would help for this role would be:
Cypress, Python, TypeScript, SQL
Core Responsibilities
- Development and writing of automated test scripts for integration and end-to-end tests
- Managing the library of test data, ensuring that each test is as minimal as possible
- Reviewing existing test scripts and build logs to identify areas where test coverage for existing functionality is lacking, propose and implement new tests to remediate this
- Requirements gathering for improvements to the system, documenting and refining these requirements in our ticketing system, working with the product team to define acceptance criteria
- Working with the development team to provide estimates for development and delivery, identifying blockers and relationships between tickets, and helping them to prioritise work according to business need
- Working with the infrastructure team to maintain and improve company’s build pipelines to ensure automated builds and tests run effectively and efficiently
- Supporting the day-to-day operations of the tech team, including designing and running ad hoc queries and reports
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar QA or Test Automation role (ideally within Financial Services or similar)
- The company’s current tech stack includes Cypress, Python, TypeScript, Mocha, Scala and SQL knowledge of these is advantageous
- ISTQB qualification is desirable
- Excellent E2E testing knowledge (developing automated test scripts, managing test data, etc.)
- Working exposure to various BA or Delivery Management practices
- Excellent communication skills – will be working in the middle of dev and product teams
