About the Role

As the Lead User Experience Researcher, you will shape, lead, and complete research activities required to evolve and support strategic portfolio delivery.

Forming part of the wider User Experience team, you will be responsible for the line management, work coordination, and personal development of a team of User Researchers. The Lead UX Researcher will educate on, and advocate for, User Centred Design practices and evidence-based decision making within the wider product delivery function. They will also deliver user research work, setting an example for others to follow, and coach and mentor other User Researchers.

Working alongside key business, portfolio and project stakeholders, you will coordinate and complete research activity to understand user behaviour and expectations and contribute to successful business and user outcomes aligned with our business strategy and core deliverables.

The role will be key in ensuring we continuously develop and grow our research approach and standards, and will drive, collaborate, and share best practice.

About You

  • You will be experienced in working in a User Experience Research role, with excellent qualitative and quantitative research skills and standards
  • Have the ability to analyse data from research and convert that into actionable recommendations and insight
  • Possess the ability and confidence to positively challenge, constructively critique, and support and mentor others in doing their best work
  • Understand and share best practices in regard to user experience research
  • Able to prepare written information in a structured and balanced way appropriate to the needs of the reader, with experience of data analysis and preparing research reports
  • You will have the desire to drive continuous improvement of the user experience research discipline
  • Previous line management experience is desirable but not essential.
