Role: Lead Worker - Lambeth Highstreet

Salary: £35,004 per annum

Hours: 37.5 per week

Location: Lambeth - London

Thames Reach runs projects and services that help to end homelessness in London. We work directly with homeless people on the streets and in hostels. We work to prevent vulnerable people from becoming homeless. We help formerly homeless people get their lives back on track. We help people find work and access training and volunteering opportunities.

About this role…

Thames Reach’s hostels are transitional spaces where a 24 hour staff team support people to move in, assess their needs, and quickly identify the best place for them to move on to next. Skilled staff teams develop a personalised support plan to ensure people are ready for their move on and have holistic support with their mental and physical health, substance misuse needs, criminal justice issues and life skills

We are looking for a Lead Worker to join theLambeth High Streetteam.

You will:

  • Be a bridge between front line staff and management- the Lead Worker role is an excellent introduction into our senior managerial roles
  • Support and encourage clients to become more independent, maximise income and reduce arrears throughout the hostel
  • Motivate and encourage the team to meet move on targets
  • Support management teams with collating service delivery information
  • Liaise with, signpost, and support client engagement with specialist agencies as appropriate e.g. drug treatment services, Community Mental Health Teams, doctors, community groups etc
  • Provide person-centred support to individuals and co-produce all plans to assist them to achieve their aims and ambitions

To succeed as the Lead Worker, you will have:

  • A flexible and responsive attitude to people with experience of rough sleeping and homelessness.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to form and maintain effective working relationships with all partners.
  • Commitment to supporting people to achieve the best outcomes as they work towards independence.
  • Strong organisation skills, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience in working autonomously as well as part a team.
  • Competent at using a computer and a range of software packages
