We have over 2,000 staff (uniformed and non-uniformed) and around 400 volunteers, including special constables and police support volunteers. We have an internal training department of 78 enthusiastic, dynamic, and dedicated staff who are naturally supportive, encouraging, and have a positive outlook. THIS ROLE

• Are you a dynamic and engaging professional with experience in Leadership and Management, who is passionate about the development of others?
• Are you confident and organised, driven by quality and always ready to go above and beyond for your candidates?
• Can you stimulate, inspire and empower candidates to take control of their learning?
• Can you actively engage with candidates to review progress, assess, and feedback on their work and plan assessment activities?
• Are you able to provide constructive feedback to candidates on an ongoing basis to ensure they progress through their programme in a timely manner and to ensure clarity and understanding?
• Are you an excellent communicator, relationship builder and team player with the ability to improve learner motivation and self-esteem?
• Can you provide an excellent level of customer service to all candidates, and other relevant stakeholders, communicating progress and achievement of the candidate consistently throughout their development?
• Do you have the ability to work creatively as part of a team and independently?

• Can you support, advise and motivate candidates, overcoming barriers to learnings and adapt delivery to meet candidates needs?

If so, come and join our Learning & Development team as a Leadership Assessor.

Reporting into the Leadership Development Supervisor, we are looking for a Leadership Assessor to carry out workplace assessments with Sergeants and Inspectors undergoing accredited police supervisory and management qualifications.

Ideally you’ll be a qualified assessor with experience in assessment of management qualifications and will be able to use your experience of different types and depth of assessment methods to assess in a consistent, fair, safe and ethical manner.

• As an experienced Assessor, you will hold a recognised Assessor qualification and either a recognised level 5 management qualification or have previous experience at supervisor or middle management level.
• Or you will hold either a recognised level 5 management qualification or have previous experience at supervisor or middle management level and we can ensure that you are trained as an assessor and achieve a recognised Assessor qualification

Your base location will be Devizes Police HQ, however due to the nature of the role agile working is an essential element, and you will be required to attend various police stations and locations throughout the County.
