Working Pattern: Days (37.5 hours per week, typical hours are 07:30 – 15:40 or 08:10 – 16:20)

We have opportunities for a number of Leadership roles in Operations. The successful candidate will be joining an experienced team in supporting the full portfolio of work.

About the Profession/Team

The operations profession offers a wide range of Opportunities within their team, they are at the very heart of the day-to-day operations for the successful running of Sellafield LTD.

The team, work in a fast paced, highly challenging environment that see them oversee areas like hazard reductions, manging the physical site-based teams that are delivering our work accordance to the CEO’s vision and delivering key milestones to the business.


The Ideal Candidate:

Operations Manager:
The role is to promote and ensure Safety and Security standards are upheld and demonstrates positive compliance with standards, processes and procedures. This role incorporates delivery as a key measurable.
The role holder will manage operational delivery and improvements to ensure delivery against programme objectives and milestones.
Additional requirements will involve ensuring the team are following standards, processes and procedures applicable to the role to ensure that the team is safe at all times and do not compromise on plant safety.
The role holder providers a governance and control framework to ensure safe delivery of operational activities to high standards and acts as a primary point of contact for the facility for other areas of the site to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
The role will also involve looking at areas for improvements and driving transformation within the business.
Operations Support Manager:
The role of Operations Support manager is to manage a multi-disciplined and varied team that provide direct support for operational delivery as well as ensuring legislative compliance.

The role is pivotal in ensuring systems and processes that demonstrate compliance with the site standards and procedures are effectively implemented within the facility or facilities.
The main challenge associated with the role is to develop a sound understanding of a very wide range of subjects and be able to advice or guide plant personnel to ensure effective support to frontline operations.
The role will also involve looking at areas for improvements and driving transformation within the business.

Essential Skills
  • Demonstrable leadership experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong facilitation and influencing skills.
  • Promotes a strong safety culture, leads by example and challenges poor behaviour.
  • Evidence of the ability to deal with regulatory bodies, with a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory and company standards.
  • Demonstrable evidence of delivery of improvement activities
  • Operations, manufacturing or production knowledge and experience.
  • Experience of leading a team.
