When you join Affinity Water as a Leakage Control Technician, you’ll help to deliver a critical service to the business by detecting leakage and unaccounted-for water in the network. You’ll take ownership of an assigned District Metered Area (DMA) and carry out surveys using various detection techniques, ensuring hazards are reported efficiently and in real time.
You’ll work as part of a dedicated team to deliver set leakage targets, completing your activities safely in line with company procedures and with water quality standards always in mind. You’ll also put your effective communication skills into practise by working collaboratively with internal departments and stakeholders, understanding and facilitating their requirements.
You will have a set area with leaks to repair to achieve leakage volume targets
Crucially, you’ll take pride in delivering an exceptional service to customers day in, day out.
Experience required
- Experienced in using leakage equipment and tools, leakage techniques, and systems such as Waternet and GIS.
- Confident in report writing and record keeping as part of your role involves writing method statements when certain methodologies are used. As the service you’ll provide is essential to the customer, you’ll be comfortable participating in an out of hours standby rota.
- You’ll also need a full UK driving licence to travel in a tracked vehicle. Happy to work alone and work outside in all weathers. Core hours 8am-4pm with additional overtime when required.
- Digital apps are used to report incidents so you will need to be confident with this method.
- Self motivated with a strong work ethic
