About the Department: The Student Advice & Wellbeing team sits within the Student Academic Services directorate. The team are comprised of a number of specialists across various areas and is where our Disability & Neurodiversity team are based. Student Advice & Wellbeing are often the first port of call for students in need of mental health support, disability support, immigration & finance advice, accommodation allocation and multi-faith support. About the Role The Learning Adviser role is a key element of our support for students with an SpLD at SOAS. The role holder provides appropriate screening,specialist  learning support, materials and workshops for students with specific learning differences and neurodiverse students. The Learning Advisors form part of our wider disability support provision through our Disability & Neurodiversity team, which also comprises of our disability advisers, disability caseworker and disability administration team. The role works predominantly 1:1 with students and collaborates with other members of the team to ensure that students with an SpLD are supported asfully as possible during their studies at SOAS. We are looking to employ someone who has supported students with SpLDs in a H.E. or F.E. environment.  They would also have a professional qualification and/or equivalent experience in supporting students with SpLDs.
