At Pivot we believe children deserve better. In our academies we teach and support children and young people from Key Stages 1 – 5 who have been excluded from school, for whom mainstream education is simply not working, or those with an EHCP who require a specialist placement. Every day our teams do incredible work, making a huge difference to some of the most complex and challenging children, many of whom come to us with some traumatic backgrounds.
Our aim at Pivot Academy Leeds East is to allow our young people to experience and understand the world around them, enable them to achieve to their full potential and equip them with the tools they need to play a successful role in the world beyond school and in to adulthood.
We are currently seeking two enthusiastic and resilient Learning and Behaviour Mentors to support our young people. We are looking for candidates who have experience of working with young people with complex needs, who can engage and inspire.
Our Learning and Behaviour Mentors play a key role in addressing the barriers to learning for our students, either working 1:1 or with a targeted group of pupils in order to enable them to achieve their full potential. Through innovative, creative and professional practice, you will be able to engage our young people and inspire them to learn new skills and develop their self-esteem. Although this area can be challenging, we can offer the right candidate a supportive and fun working environment. No two days are the same, the pace is very quick and you are encouraged to trial new approaches.
We have two roles available; one is a permanent position and the other is fixed term until the end of the academic year to support 1:1 with a learner.
Working at Pivot will give you a real chance to change our student’s lives and we truly believe you will find working here a rewarding experience.
