Job description

As a Level 3 Learning and Development Advisor Apprentice, the post holder is committed to completing their apprenticeship, with a focus on curating learning resources, analysing training data, and collaborating with Learning and Development providers. Situated within the Talent and Organisational Development team, the Apprentice Learning and Development Advisor actively contributes to building knowledge, skills, and behaviours in alignment with the apprenticeship standard. They play a crucial role in fostering relationships with colleagues across the University and People Services to understand how learning interventions can best support staff. Role The role involves curating diverse resources and materials, ranging from LinkedIn Learning pathways to infographics and presentations. The Apprentice works closely with internal and external learning partners, liaising with the Learning and Organisational Development team when needed. Analysing data related to Learning and Development activities, they provide summaries and visual representations, contributing to organisational reports on staff engagement. The Advisor supports the facilitation of learning events, taking a lead on topics as their expertise expands, and suggests ways to evaluate interventions while managing staff enquiries and signposting them to relevant resources. Ideal Candidate In addition to their primary responsibilities, the Apprentice actively contributes to team meetings, sharing ideas on how Learning and Development activities can enhance overall work. The role also encompasses compliance with the Equality Act 2010, ensuring a service that promotes equality of opportunity and eliminates discrimination. Furthermore, the post holder is committed to minimising environmental impact in their role and promoting sustainability within their area of responsibility, aligning with DMU's Environmental Policy. The ideal candidate for the Learning and Development Advisor Apprenticeship will hold GSCE (or equivalent) qualifications with a Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English. They possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and are adept at maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive data. With a demonstrable interest in Learning and Development, the ideal candidate has the ability to prepare compelling presentations and visually represent numerical data effectively. This candidate showcases strong organisational skills, recognizing their crucial role in supporting Learning and Development initiatives. Their excellent attention to detail reflects an awareness of the importance of accuracy in task completion. Eager to contribute to the apprenticeship role, the ideal candidate combines academic achievements with practical skills and a commitment to the principles of Learning and Development. Candidates must have been living in the UK for at least three years, although exceptions apply.
