Overview

The University of Salford has decided to develop a Policing module as part of its portfolio of subject areas. Following the Police Educational Qualifications Framework (PEQF) we have been successful in consolidating a partnership with a Northwest Police Force to deliver Police Constable Degree Apprenticeships.

We are developing a team of staff to meet this exciting new initiative and are looking for people who have experience of and a passion for Policing. The Learning & Development Coach role is essential in providing a high-quality and compliant apprenticeships for trainee Police Constables, bringing their expertise to assist apprentices in meeting their ambitions.

Please note the successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly, including on-campus and around the Northwest of Manchester.

This post may subject to DBS clearance.

This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

Interviews will take place week commencing Monday 25th March.


So what will the role involve?

  • Work with programme leaders, apprentices, and employers to coordinate and oversee apprentice recruitment and onboarding activities, striving to achieve agreed targets and innovate where needed.
  • Organise and document progress review meetings for apprentices with employers and quality assure the work of others.
  • Give advice on academic programme structure to apprentices and the Constabulary in relation to the relationship between academic and industry aspects of apprenticeship.
  • Support apprentices with achieving and documenting their work-based Learning and off the job elements of the apprenticeship.
  • Pro-actively manage and organise ongoing apprentice relationship, to maximise prospects of apprentices complying with relevant programme and apprenticeship requirements.
  • Contribute to our thinking and be challenging on how Salford can transform the way it addresses equity disparities, embraces diversity and becomes more inclusive.
