About the role
Learning and Development Manager Responsibilities:
- Design and iterate Learning and Development roadmap through all grades showing mix of on-the-job, informal, and formal opportunities at each stage, linked to competency framework.
- Partner with key stakeholders to diagnose, design and roll out the right learning solution as required.
- Assess and identify training and Development needs and work with vendors to deliver training and Development programs across the organisation, including sourcing and managing contracts with providers
- Design and deliver core skills training, including management, leadership and soft skills, through a variety of methods including facilitated workshops, e-learning, audio learning, simulations and formal classroom training, either remotely, in person or hybrid where appropriate
- Quality assure training across the firm, including providing ongoing development to our internal cadre of trainers
- Continually review the company's financial expenditure on L&D activities and manage budget to ensure learning objectives are met and investment in L&D delivers a return for the business.
- Lead the creation of a continual training and Development culture across the organisation.
- Monitor and review the effectiveness of training provided and provide stakeholder updates as required using data-led insights
- Act as a line manager for the L&D Assistant, including training and Development
- Help Talent Leads and Engagement Leads solve specific training problems with their people through provision of advice, timely learning interventions, and root cause analysis.
- Keep up-to-date with developments in L&D profession and integrate these into MH offer.
- Support the provision of the Chartered Management Consultant Award, particularly curriculum mappingand annual re-accreditation
- Manage the Apprenticeship Levy scheme, working with various areas of the business to identify suitable candidates .
- Support our performance management approach by helping to build a feedback-rich culture, providing training and advice and leading areas of the performance management review cycle.
- Oversee the Performance Management Framework and ensure consistent application of principles through communication, training, troubleshooting and advice
Experience:
Experience and abilities:
- An experienced trainer and facilitator with the ability to deliver engaging and interactive training sessions both in-person and through virtual platforms
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Learning and Development or closely related experience
- Experience of delivering training using various methods including on-the-job training, classroom training, simulation-based training, e-learning, and workshops. Coaching and mentoring experience highly desirable
- Experience of delivering leadership and management training in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of adult learning theory, ideally with a formal teaching/training qualification such as PGCE, DTLLSor similar
- Experience in designing and producing e-Learning and managing a Learning Management System
- Multimedia skills including editing videos, audio and creating graphics, slide decks, workbooks and training collateral
- Excellent communication skills including presentation and facilitation skills with a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Ability to work in high-pressured situations whilst leading and directing the team across multiple tasks
- A creative approach, able to use the right technique to produce effective training that makes best use of technology and latest training approaches
- Outcome driven with the ability to think creatively about how to achieve the desired outcomes in the face of obstacles, budget constraints, and other perspectives.
- A strategic perspective, able to link the Learning and Development outcomes back to the strategic aims of the business
- Qualified in coaching or psychometrics highly desirable
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Office and
- Experience using e-learning authoring tools highly desirable
- A total cash package of up to £65,000, comprising of a base salary of £58,000 and a combination of personal and company bonuses which enables all our people to share in the success of the business.
- A quarterly ‘Escape’ for 24 hours, for social, team building and corporate social responsibility activities, with a longer 4-day event held annually.
- 25 days annual leave increasing by one day for every full year of service to a maximum of 30 days

Our offices are based near Liverpool Street Station and although we operate in a hybrid working environment, the successful candidate would be expected to be in the office 2-3 days a week, and on occasion more often.
