Join Our Team as a Learning and Development Trainer!We are seeking a Dynamic Learning & Development trainer to support our Learning & Development Manager in fostering a vibrant learning culture within our establishment. We need someone who can captivate and inspire, turn training sessions into thrilling experiences. As a Learning and Development Trainer, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and delivering a wide range of engaging learning activities that align with our business strategy and meet contractual and legislative requirements. You will be responsible for all aspects of Initial Training Course intakes for Prison Custody Officers and Operational Support Officers, ensuring excellence in attendance, timekeeping, and performance, manage the groups during the 8-week training period, providing guidance and support to ensure successful graduation.At HMP Addiewell, situated within the central belt of Scotland, we deliver the full prison operation including the care of our prisoner population by our Prison Custody Officers, integrated Facilities Management, the provision of a suite of rehabilitation services, resettlement programmes, offender behaviour programmes, education and skills development and vocational training. Sodexo operate prisons that rehabilitate those in our care and provide purposeful activity, employment, education, and support services.Main Responsibilities:Schedule and delivery of the Initial Training Courses (ITCs) for all Operational staff and Non-Operational Inductions Work with L&D Manager to ensure ITC training content is up to date and delivered effectively to enhance staff engagement and improve staff retention. Provide support to establishment SMEs during training sessions, e.g., Security, Residential, Rehabilitation, H&S, HR and others and deliver content when required.Facilitate upskilling and refresher sessions for existing staff.Provide efficient administration services to Learning & Development within Sodexo Justice, including maintaining records, dealing with and responding to queries and scheduling SME’s for ITC courses.Support the L&D Manager with ‘day to day’ line management of the new staff whilst on the ITC.Work with Learner Coaches to ensure the ITC is ‘fit for purpose’ and any gaps in knowledge are being addressed.Work with L&D Manager to ensure all statutory and mandatory training is planned, delivered, and recorded.Plan and organise ITC schedules – including requesting and allocating SMEs.Increase staff engagement in Learning and Development resulting in more positive feedback.Monitor and review statutory and mandatory training to assist Learning and Development Manager maintaining the required statutory certification appropriate for all roles, e.g., C&R, TTM, H&S, EFAW etc.Please see attached job description for further information regarding the role requirements The Ideal Candidate:Essential Resilient and resourceful.Passionate and enthusiastic individual.Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).Effective listener.Ability to build robust working relationships with individuals and departments.Ability to work as part of a team but also independently.Good facilitation skills.Able to provide constructive feedback.Excellent organisational skills.Flexible.Approachable.Prison experience is not required for this role. This role is subject to a security and recruitment checks.Desirable Relevant trainer qualification (prepared to undertake training qualifications as part of role).Experience working in a custodial environment.                                                                        What We Offer:Starting salary £30,00.00 - 35,000.00 per annum -  depending on experience.Free meals and parking Access to our on-site gym and fitness classesFull training Life assurance BUPA healthcare Subsidised gym membershipPension schemes and much more!Please see benefits guide attached which outlines all of Sodexo's excellent benefits! If you are ready to embark on a rewarding journey as a Learning and Development Trainer, we want to hear from you!
