Job description

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Academy team based in Hull as you will play a vital role in fulfilling our vison for a sustainable and profitable future for the maritime sector and for the whole of the UK.

Purpose:

 

To manage Group Training Plans inline with legislation/mandatory requirements, for areas such as Health and Safety, Engineering and Marine, ensuring the Learning Management System, Training Budgets and Training Curriculars are aligned.  Ensure all colleagues across the group receives the highest quality training and development, to meet ABP training requirements ,whilst maximising ABPs apprenticeship levy.

 

Accountabilities

 

  • Development of Regional Training Plans, against regulatory requirements, such as Health and Safety, Engineering and Marine.
  • Ensure Training Budgets are created and submitted in a timely manner for the annual business planning cycle.
  • Monitoring of the group training spend against agreed annual training budget, and forecasting spend.
  • Management of Training Centre accreditations.
  • Management of auditing process for Trainers, Training Material and Management reviews.
  • Procuring training provision to create best value for the business whilst ensuring a return on investment. 

 

 

About you:

Good leadership skills is required and being very well organised, as well as self-driven to meet company deadlines.  A people’s people offering coaching and mentoring across ABP. Working in collaboration with key stakeholders across ABP is key to the success of this role. Happy to travel and stay overnight as and when required.

 

 

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Essential

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification in Learning and Development
  • Experience of managing Learning Management System.
  • Experience in establishing and manging large budgets.
  • Ability and experience in designing and implementing new training programmes.
  • Experience in managing external suppliers and contracts.
  • Team supervision experience with coaching and mentoring experience.
  • Training delivery capability across a range of ABP stakeholders
  • Ability to travel / stay overnight.

Ideal

  • CIPD Level 7 qualification
  • Extensive Marine experience in a port and/or training.
  • A relevant training & Development qualification.
