Job description

Main duties The post holder performs a range of duties and responsibilities from those listed below. Planning and Organisational skills Providing excellent multiple project management and co-ordination of a broad range of activities across a range of stakeholders delivering constant reassessment of delivery timescales to ensure deadlines are met. Develop and maintain a mixed portfolio of core project documentation, in line with the SY ICB PMO framework, working to agreed standards in line with project management methodology commensurate with the scope and complexity of the initiatives being supported. Work in partnership with colleagues across SYICB to deliver an Learning Disability Recruitment Campaign. Advise others on strategic issues such as student recruitment and marketing. Carry out targeted careers work to address improving inclusion into nursing with Global Majority students and encourage under-represented groups into Learning Disability nursing. Monitor, record, and report progress made within each project/activity within the work stream ensuring reporting and appropriate escalation of key risks and issues which may impact on project success through the relevant project governance. Set up and maintain project progress meetings ensuring maintainance of accurate records to inform revised project plans and approach. Self manage workload and make informed decisions independently on behalf of projects with appropriate and timely escalation of relevant risks and issues to the designated contact within the SY ICB. Page 5 of 8 Carry out independent professional activity for publication or consultancy: design of research methodology and methods, gathering and analysis of data, production of report and recommendations. Develop and organise work-related learning, links with external bodies to support activity, deliver CPD to staff in specific areas of own expertise. Seek and evaluate feedback from partners and stakeholders to inform future development and quality enhancement. Communication and relationship skills Ensure effective communication and negotiation acting as a key link between the projects and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of a range of complex projects. Use a range of influencing and negotiation skills to ensure delivery from project leads, contributors and stakeholders. Presenting project and workstream progress and relevant information to senior stakeholders. Work closely with place based and SYICB Communications and Engagement Teams to engage and work with primary care contacts, NHS England, public, student nurses, Learning Disability nursing teams in inpatient, community, and primary care settings, and with regional links, to ensure excellent levels of engagement and buy-in to the development of service changes and transformation models as they develop. In liaison with Communication and Engagement colleagues, work with patient and public engagement groups to ensure appropriate levels of patient engagement are embedded into workstreams as they are established. The post holder will ensure that findings and feedback from patients or representatives is used to inform re-design of services. Support a learning culture across organisations through the effective sharing and dissemination of project outcomes. Presenting at regional meetings, seminars, and conferences. Attend and contribute to meetings with peers and senior managers e.g., team meetings to discuss related issues, awareness raising initiatives, recruitment strategies, curriculum development, training needs. Advise staff in areas of your own expertise. Provide advice, input, or recommendation to the decisions of others e.g., advise colleagues on the implications of new regulations / policies for practice in specialist areas. Communicate complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding as well as to peers using high level skills and a range of media, for example writing marketing materials. Analytical and Problem-solving Skills Work with Programme Managers within the SYB Learning Disability and Autism (LDA) Programme to undertake statistical analysis and presentation of information to; advise, inform decision making or re-design. Carry out independent professional activity for publication or consultancy: design of research methodology and methods, gathering and analysis of data, production of report and recommendations (I suggest in the analytical and problem-solving skills section but see what you think) Attend and contribute to meetings with peers and senior managers e.g., team meetings to discuss related issues, awareness raising initiatives, recruitment strategies, curriculum development, training needs. Present complex information to stakeholders, where appropriate including analysis of data, statistics used to inform project planning. Co-ordinate the implementation of evaluation plans, either internal or outsourced, ensuring effective systems are in place to gather data and present to a broad range of stakeholders. This will evidence success/lessons learned of projects or service developments, including the use of mechanisms such as surveys and audits. Policy and implementation skills Engage in networking e.g., discussion and dissemination of strategy and policy formation. Seek out, interpret, and implement national policy initiatives and assess application. Contribute to the national NHS England and Regional reporting process including contribution to Task & Finish forums for National transformation funded projects. Undertake wider research work in relation to national, regional and local initiatives which may be Page 6 of 8 used to inform decision making with regards to changes and to also share learning and best practice. Work with the new NHSE to share best practice across the region. Financial and resource management. To contribute to the overall financial and assurance reporting to the LDA National Team and disseminating this information into briefings to inform local stakeholders. Developing recruitment materials and processes, where required. General Develop a culture that promotes equality and values diversity.
