The job itself
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at The Hub School as a Learning Mentor. The successful applicant will be required to support students who are placed on alternative learning and vocational programmes at local colleges and training providers within the East Riding of Yorkshire region.
The working hours are from 08:30am to 16:30pm Monday to Thursday and 08:30 to 16:00pm on a Friday during the school term. You will also be paid for an additional 37 hours per year to attend team meetings and training and development that sits outside your normal working hours. Your actual salary will be £22,316.76 per annum, and this will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year so even when it is the summer holidays, you continue to receive the same payment that month.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for an individual who has a good standard of education including numeracy and literacy at GCSE grade C/5 or equivalent, experience of working with Secondary-age students, the ability to relate effectively to students, their parents/carers and professionals working with them and the ability to visit the young people on placements which may be spread throughout the county. The nature if the role requires driving to various provisions to support students learning and therefore the use of a car is essential.
