We are working in partnership with a secondary school in West Cardiff to recruit a proactive and nurturing Learning & Nurture Assistant to join their Additional Needs Support Team.
Role and Responsibilities:
This is a Full-Time role working Monday - Friday (8:15 to 3:15). The role is starting ASAP and is a long-term position, with the opportunity to move onto a permanent contract upon completion of a successful trial period. You will be expected to:
- Work with students who are supported by the school's ALN Team.
- Deliver intervention sessions and provide ongoing support for students with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
- Liaise between parents/carers, senior members of staff and the rest of the ALN team to monitor and report on pupils' progress.
- Support young people with a range of Additional Needs and BESD (Behaviour, Emotional and Social Difficulties), including some learners with trauma.
Requirements:
- Enhanced Child Only DBS with Update Service (Essential)
- EWC Registration (Essential)
- Previous experience working with young people (Desirable)
- Previous experience and/or understanding of supporting those with Additional Needs (Desirable)
