Calderdale Museums collect, preserve, and make accessible objects and information relating to the history and heritage of Calderdale and its people for the entertainment and inspiration of all.
We are looking for someone to lead on our learning offer to develop and implement broad ranging, innovative and high-quality programmes for children and adults across all Museums sites that relate to our museums, collections and the heritage of the local area that will inspire learning for all.
This role is to facilitate access, promote awareness and encourage participation in Museums sites, exhibitions, and activities by all sections of the community, enabling learning through access to collections, resources, and knowledge.
With a strong background in education for all and a thorough knowledge of British and local history you will have an ability to research and devise a programme of activities for all ages that engages users with our collections, sites, and annual exhibitions programme. Working across sites alongside our small museums team you will devise and manage workshops, online content, talks, tours and trails, for example, and manage the training and supervision of workshop leaders.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. Applicants to posts that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed
