We wish to appoint an enthusiastic individual to join out Learning Support Team as a Learning Support Assistant. The successful candidate will be required to work with SEND students across Key Stages 3 and 4 to ensure that students’ needs do not become a barrier to learning and making progress. You will be required to understand individual students’ needs and work with subject teachers so that they can develop learning programmes appropriate to the needs of those students. Support will encompass both in class and through targeted interventions, which may also involve small group work.
The successful candidate will have:
- Education to at least A Level standard or equivalent;
- GCSE Grade C (4/5) in Maths and English (or equivalent);
- Good working knowledge and understanding of a wide range of additional needs;
- Experience of working with children and young people, ideally within an education setting;
- Excellent organisational and digital literacy skills;
- A commitment to equality of opportunity and inclusion.
The post will suit an individual who enjoys working with children and young people and has a desire to be a positive role model for them.
Hours: 35 hours a week, 39 weeks a year (term time only + 5 Inset Days)
