Education Support Worker – SEN College Axcis Education are working with one of the South West leading provider of SEN education and care support to recruit Residential Support Workers for their high profile college in Teignbridge This is a full-time, permanent role based on working 3 x 14 hour shifts per week with every other weekend off. There is a requirement to work on a sleep in basis 4 times per month. The residential college provides education, life skills support and care for 16 to 25 year olds with a range of SEN conditions ranging from ASD to MLD and SEMH. A large part of your role will be supporting young people on a 1-1 basis within the community and at college, helping them to build their independence and life skills. The young people are very engaging and enthusiastic and a joy to work with. Key responsibilities include • Providing high quality, person centered care whilst recognising the each Young Persons potential and individuality as part of a team. • Meeting care and support needs through promoting dignity, privacy, safety and independence Ideal candidates will have • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent. Alternatively, you would be keen to gain this certified qualification with full support from the organisation/ • Full driving licence • A resilient and calm approach when managing challenging situations • Reliability, commitment and a genuine passion for supporting young people with SEN The organisation offer excellent learning opportunities and great career development opportunities.
