TeacherActive are looking for a SEND TA / Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant in Leeds to have the opportunity to work in one of our Special Educational Needs/SEND settings.
The school caters to years 1-11/ KS1-4 with a variety of SEND requirements, from ASD, ADHD and other behavioural difficulties and is looking for long term cover staff, happy to be flexible and work within school hours 8:30-3:30. They are looking for enthusiastic and passionate staff that can get stuck in from the get go!
This role will require someone with resilience and passion for supporting students with SEND requirements. The students need staff that can help support with school work and help manage their behaviours day-day and help them make good decisions.
The ideal SEND TA / SEND Teaching Assistant should have the following:
• Happy to give a good level of personal care towards students that require it
• De-escalation training such as MAPA/CPI, Team- Teach or PRICE
• A calm, patient, and caring persona
• Good communication skills
• A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
• Experience in working with supporting SEND students in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis
